Follow them Friday: Liezie Peasy

Our sixteenth “Follow them Friday” features ANNELIES from LIEZIE PEASY blogging in DUTCH.

When did you start blogging?

I started in October 2013, so it has been almost a year!

How did you decide on the name of your blog?

I was looking for something that covers what I stand for: everyday quick and nutritious meals. When I was younger, I used to call myself “liezie” and I connected that to “easypeasy” which captures the kind of recipes I feature on the blog.

What was the title of your first ever blog post?

‘Firsts’

Do you prefer eating in or eating out?

I would say I prefer eating out IF the meal meets the expectations. I can enjoy simple food if done well, and more adventurous menus prepared up to standard. Anything outside of this range, I prefer to cook myself ;).

What is your favourite dish to share?

Pasta, in any possible way

What is your favourite comfort food?

Risotto and spaghetti vongole

What is your favourite dessert?

Something not too sweet. I have eaten a crème brulée flavoured with tonka bean and lime which was pretty amazing. And I like everything that has fruit, yoghurt, buttermilk or lime in it!

How do you like your eggs in the morning?

Cooked 4 minutes.

Was there a particular dish that got you into cooking?

Chocolate mousse. I made this with my sister when we were quite young, and it was so nice to make and delicious to eat, that it kept me going back to the kitchen to try new things.

What has been your biggest recipe failure?

I dropped a nearly finished key lime pie at 10 pm in the evening, the night before my daughter’s birthday party. The whole kitchen floor, oven, and the cabinet underneath the oven, were covered in cookie crumbs and lemon curd… read about it here

What is your earliest food memory?

I guess it must be that chocolate mousse from above!

What are the three things you always have in your freezer?

Bread crumbs, ginger, lime leaves

How do you spend your time when you’re not blogging?

Taking care of my two daughters, and cooking, of course 🙂
