Our 82nd “Follow them Friday” features Mademoiselle Tomate from Voyages en Legumie who blogs in French.

When did you start blogging?

1 year ago, but I have been writing vegetables recipes for for more almost 7 years (an organic farm)

How did you decide on the name of your blog?

I like vegetables and my inspiration has no borders thus travelling with vegetables recipes seemed natural although I am not vegetarian nor vegan, just passionate about organic fruits and vegetables.

What was the title of your first ever blog post?

A japanese inspired recipe :Petits légumes et saumon au bouillon nanbanzuke

Do you prefer eating in or eating out?



What is your favourite dish to share?

A tagine or a big mezze with plenty of small dishes

What is your favourite comfort food?

In winter it would be Harira , the famous Moroccan soup. In summer, any fresh fish dish, grilled sardines being one my favorites

What is your favourite dessert?

So many to choose from but I don’t have a sweet tooth. However I never say no to a good “Moelleux au chocolat”.

How do you like your eggs in the morning?

I like simple “oeufs aux plats”(fried eggs) , cooked in olive oil, spiced with cumin : cumin is the perfect spice for eggs!

Was there a particular dish that got you into cooking?

Yes, chicken tagine with preserved lemons and olives, a childhood memory.


What has been your biggest recipe failure?

Every cook has failure now and then but definitely macaroons!

What is your earliest food memory?

My mother’s home bread


What are the three things you always have in your freezer?

home baked bread, briwates and home made biscuits

How do you spend your time when you’re not blogging?

Cooking and reading or playing piano

Who are your favourite non-food bloggers?

I don’t really read non food blogs, too many books and novels out there waiting for me
