When Max from Brussels Food Friends asked me to do a guest post on her Foodie platform I looked outside the window and it was spring. And spring means two things. One: winter’s over so no need to stock fat reserves for the cold anymore…ehem, “Burger, that means you”. Two: the summer will be upon us before you can say “beaaach!” so it might be time to try and feel good in our little dresses. Three: Yes, there’s a three. Do we really need an excuse to eat healthy and take good care of ourselves? Didn’t think so.
So here are 5 restaurants to have a healthy lunch in Brussels and their reviews by bloggers:
The Foodalist tells us about Moonfood, the first raw & gluten-free affordable fast food cafe in Belgium. Here, you can leave all the “EEEE” away and have a healthy & vegan lunch without breaking the piggie bank
I myself blogged about YAG, whose philosophy is “You are what you eat and You Are Great”. They serve live food, which is basically all the food items which still retain all of their micro-nutrients to nourish your body instead of poisoning it!
Brussels’ Kitchen tested The Little Green Shop, which brings together in one space a tea-room and a quality florist with a 15 euros vegetarian brunch. Salads, tons of vegetables, a few hot dishes (like amazing braised chicory), and a sweet buffet.
AMI by My Brussels: vegetarian meets street food to offer yummy veggie burgers and all kinds of healthy salads, soups and sweets. Located in the Flagey area, it’s a great little cosy and vibrant place.
The lovely Sandy of S Marks the Spots tells us about Tan, a grocery shop/restaurant where you can buy organic and bio foodie products that are also used to prepare the meals at the restaurant on the first floor. At the menu, seasonal veggies, natural wine, virgin olive oil, homemade gluten-free bread.
Anita of The Brusselsprouts, born in Paris but raised in Uruguay, studied in Strasbourg now living in Brussels since the end of 2010, with her then boyfriend (& now hubby).
